Alexandria police arrested 23-year-old Richard Prenell and 20-year-old Patrick D. Smith, both of Alexandria. Prenell is also charged with Flight from an Officer.
APD received a complainant of a reported robbery of an individual which occurred in the 3700 Block of 3rd street.
The victim told officers he was robbed of some cash and gave a description of the suspect and their vehicle to APD Dispatch. The victim also relayed that one of the suspects shot at him. The victim was not injured.
Responding officers located the vehicle in the area of I-49 and Broadway streets. Following a short vehicle pursuit, officers were able to take the suspect into custody without further incident. A handgun was recovered.
