New Orleans police say one man was killed and three women were injured in a shooting in the 1500 block of Lafreniere Street on Saturday night.

Authorities pronounce 34-year-old man dead at scene

New Orleans police are investigating a shooting that happened Sunday night that left a 34-year-old man dead and three women injured.

The shooting happened late Saturday in the 1500 block of Lafreniere Street, police said.

Sauntrice Oquin shares a home with her 91-year-old grandfather in the seventh ward. Her home was pierced by bullets that night.

“Normally, my grandfather sits right here, just luckily thank God he was in bed and I wasn’t home because I was … The favorite part of the sofa where I usually sit, that’s where the bullet hit,” Oquin said.

Authorities said officers located the 34-year-old man lying on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three women were transported to the hospital in stable condition. Police said a 25-year-old woman had a gunshot wound to the wrist, a 22-year-old woman had a gunshot wound to the leg and an unidentified female had a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
