Brandon Bernard, 25, faces aggravated battery charges
NEW ORLEANS —
New Orleans police said Officer Brittany Marigny responded to a call reporting domestic disturbance in an apartment in the 3100 block of Tulane Avenue just after 10 p.m.
The caller told police her boyfriend, Brandon Bernard, 25, locked her out of the apartment after an argument. Police said Bernard let Marigny and his girlfriend back into the apartment, and then left.
Moments later, investigators said, the man came back, walked past Marigny and his girlfriend and headed into a different room. Police said when Bernard rejoined the two women, he had one hand behind his back, prompting the officer to order him to show both his hands.
Police said Bernard pulled a Taser from behind his back and used it on the officer’s arm before escaping.
Police said Bernard turned himself in to police at about 10:30 a.m. Thursday. He is charged with aggravated battery and battery on a police officer.
