Baton Rouge, LA: 2 men shot in parking lot of daiquiri shop

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) –

Police are investigating a double shooting in the parking lot of a daiquiri shop that left one victim with life-threatening injuries early Thursday morning.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said the shooting happened in the parking lot of Sherwood Forest Daiquiri, which is located in the 1600 block of North Sherwood Forest Drive, around 1:45 a.m.

Minutes later, officers were called and it was reported someone had been shot and was lying in the road in the 1300 block of N. Sherwood Forest.

Police said upon arrival on the scene they found a 24-year-old man.

He appeared to have been shot several times in the leg. They added the wounds appeared to be life-threatening.

A short time later another 24-year-old gunshot victim was found a few blocks away on East Black Oak Drive.

He had been shot once in the head, but authorities reported his wound was not considered life-threatening.

Both victims were taken to an area hospital.

Their names were not released.
