The incident happened on Monday about 5:30 p.m., police said.
The hunter accessed the area from Mandeville High School, police said.
A surveillance camera captured the man hauling away a deer carcass after killing it with a compound bow.
Police said the bow, deer carcass and game camera were collected as evidence.
