According to U. S. Attorney Donald Cazayoux’s office, they dropped the case because the state’s charges against William Bouvay Jr., 42, could lead to a longer jail sentence. They could still bring a federal case against Bouvay once the state’s case has finished.

BATON ROUGE, La. —

A 42-year-old Baton Rouge man accused of calling in a bomb threat to LSU on Sept. 17 has pleaded not guilty to federal charges.

The Advocate reports U.S. Magistrate Judge Docia Dalby ordered William Bouvay Jr. to be held, without bond, in federal custody at the West Baton Rouge Parish Prison until his trial in December.
