WALKER – Livingston Parish authorities charged a man with feticide and attempted murder after they said he stabbed his pregnant wife this morning, and cut her unborn child from her.
“It’s a gruesome scene,” Sheriff Jason Ard told News 2, “very challenging for our investigators.”
Ard said his investigators charged Jeffery Reynolds with first-degree feticide and second-degree attempted murder in connection with the incident this morning at his home on Milton Road outside Walker.
Sheriff’s office spokesperson Lori Steele said a call about a stabbing came in around 11:15 a.m. from the residence. Neighbors told News 2 they heard yelling and a commotion from the residence, and when investigators arrived Steele said they found Reynolds had used “a utensil” to remove the fetus, which died despite attempts by EMS to revive it.
