NEW ORLEANS —A mysterious text message spread across the New Orleans area over the weekend, and it came from a person in the 504 area code, claiming to be Kristen.
“All day yesterday I’m finding out about more and more people that’s receiving this message,” said Kristen Diecidue, who received a message from the mysterious “Kristen” early Sunday morning.
Diecidue was one of thousands of New Orleans area residents asking the question, “Kristen who?” after receiving a text message saying, “Hey it’s Kristen message me on textdateever.com.” Anyone clicking on the link is sent to a sex solicitation website.
“That’s concerning to me, and what else are they getting into?” Diecidue said. “My friend Vickie in Chalmette, she received one. It’s just all these people receiving them.”
