A Violet couple, hung over from a birthday celebration the night before, were arrested on Tuesday after their 9-year-old son missed his school bus and then led a St. Bernard Parish sheriff’s deputy back to his home. Once inside the house on 6th Street, sheriff’s deputies allegedly found a bag of marijuana and some partially burned joints, and determined that the conditions of the home were “deplorable” and unfit for children, according to Sheriff Jimmy Pohlmann.
Desmonique Bienemy, who turned 27 on Monday, and Stephen Parker, 25, were arrested and booked with drug possession, improper supervision of minors and use of controlled substances in the presence of minors. They also were booked with contributing to the delinquency of juveniles. In addition to the 9-year-old boy, their 2-year-old son lived with them.
