Doctors in India are treating a baby boy with heavy burns and scars which his parents claim are caused by his body spontaneously overheating. Parents of the two-and-a-half month old baby say the child’s body gets excessively warm and the infant has been ‘on fire’ four times since he was born.
Dr. Jaichandran, chief paediatrician of Kilpauk Medical College Hospital in Tamil Nadu, said: “In the present situation what we have to take care, we have to treat the burns that have been already sustained and we have to prevent the child from sustaining any future burns.” Report by Sarah Kerr.
