The story of Sharmeka Moffitt possibly having been a victim of a hate crime by the Ku Klux Klan was too delicious for the media to ignore and they pounced on the story with vigor.
The mainstream media goes out of it’s way to portray white Americans as a general populous as being racists despite all the evidence to the contrary. They pounce on any story that has even the slightest angle of race and blow it all out of proportion to fit what they want to believe. They try to make it seem that it’s just the way that white people are, that it is in their DNA, they just can’t help themselves – they were born racist.
A story like Sharmeka being set on fire by the KKK would help solidify what they wrongly believe, that the KKK is growing, thriving, alive and well – if the story had been true.
In my opinion the KKK and their ilk are in fact a dying breed, they are shunned practically everywhere they go by people of all races.
Now that authorities have determined that Sharmeka set herself on fire and scribbled “KKK” on her own car – the media has gone silent. I Googled her name to see if there was any update to her status, after all she nearly killed herself.
Yup the above screen shot is pretty much all I got from a Google search. The media has moved on. I would like to know how she is doing.

But it did lead me to this story from November 5th that Google didn’t seem to find as the most recent result – even though I used the “tools” to supposedly give me the most recent results.

WINNSBORO, La. (KNOE 8 News) – A Franklin Parish woman accused of burning herself in a Winnsboro park is now in serious condition, [an] upgrade from critical.
Sharmeka Moffitt, 20, remains in the LSU Health Center Shreveport.
The Franklin Parish Sheriff’s Office said Moffit used charcoal lighter fluid and a cigarette lighter to burn herself in a Winnsboro park. Deputies said Moffitt also wrote the letters “KKK” on her vehicle.
The Sheriff’s Office is still investigating this situation.
The Franklin Parish District Attorney’s Office says no one in the office has received any paperwork on this case. A worker said they’re waiting for Moffitt’s condition to get better.

It is a sad story – never mind that she made a false claim. She clearly had issues and I feel bad for her that she felt the need to do this to herself. I don’t care that she made a false claim. I realize too that the family is probably not too keen on talking about the situation right now, their only concern is Sharmeka’s health.
I would like to know her motivation, but no matter what was going on in her mind it still wouldn’t make sense to me to do something so horrendous to herself. I hope she is recovering. I hope that she gets the help that she needs, especially for her child’s sake.
There will always be racism, but it is not a majority of people in my opinion, but a minority of people that are racist.
We all bleed red. We all love. We all feel pain and sorrow. We all empathize. We are all in this together.
And we all will eventually die, so let us try and make the best of things while we can during this precious time we have together.
Let us all try to make the world a better place in our own little ways – for the future of our children and our children’s children. To infinity and beyond.
