MARKSVILLE, La. – A former Avoyelles Parish minister has been sentenced to eight years in prison on molestation charges.

Rev. Allen Chris Gintz was facing two counts of molestation of a juvenile when he pleaded guilty last week. Gintz was arrested in October 2010 while he was a preacher at Abundant Life Church near Marksville.
