Alexandria police arrested Glendell Wesley, 35, and charged him with aggravated battery after the Friday incident.
At 10:20 p.m., police received a call about a battery at a house in the 1900 block of Kelly Street. When officers arrived, they found a 23-year-old female victim with non-life-threatening cuts to a hand and abdomen. An investigation found that Wesley and the woman had a domestic fight that escalated into an attack, according to a release.

The woman was treated at a local hospital for injuries on her hand and stomach, investigators say.
Welsey was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center and remains there on a $50,000 bond.
