Central Louisiana officials are urging people statewide to sign a petition in support of Fort Polk, the U.S. Army’s base in Vernon Parish.

Supporters of Fort Polk are trying to call attention to the Department of the Army’s latest Programmatic Environmental Assessment, which considers options for staffing at Fort Polk and 20 other stateside bases.
