A mother and father from St. Bernard Parish are asking for help in solving the mysterious death of their son.
Chris Campbell was found burned to death inside the car that he loved, out on a highway known for drag racing. And Crimestoppers is now offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
“I didn’t want to believe it was him but I knew it was, because nobody drove his car but him,”said father Lyle Campbell.
Campbell’s parents are stunned as to what happened to their son on the road to Delacroix, but they said he loved to race cars and it was a love he developed at an early age. Chris Campbell bought the rare Ford Maverick just this past Saturday, and planned to restore it.
Right now, the family has more questions than answers. His mother Elvira said, ” I would like to know what happened, why it happened.”
They say their son had no enemies, and they have no clues as to why he is now considered St. Bernard Parish’s second homicide victim of the year.
