A former Baker Police sergeant was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of stealing nearly $4,000 in “fees” from students in Baker schools’ DARE drug education program, Louisiana State Police said. Former Sgt. Jason Doyle, who was the Baker Police Department’s DARE Officer and School Resource Officer, allegedly told families they needed to pay fees for the program, even though DARE is funded by a federal grant and no fees are necessary.
