A 52-year-old man was killed Sunday after getting caught in a conveyer belt while working at the Impala Burnside Terminal in Ascension Parish, the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office said.
Nolan Cormier died in the accident, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Cormier was living in Geismar but was from Plaucheville, the release says.
The release does not say how the accident happened.
The Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the incident, and more information will be available later, the release says.
A statement from Impala says the accident occurred around 9 a.m. Sunday.
Cormier later died at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Gonzales, the statement says.
