The Eunice Police Department issued an advisement to all officers about their new shadow: Alexander Lege.
“Officers have been advising the dispatcher of this guy following them around and videotaping them on traffic stops and calls,”said Eunice Deputy Chief of Police Varden Guillory in an email statement. “He follows officers around everyday. The U.S Supreme Court ruled recently that an officer is a public servant and has no expectation of privacy while doing his job in uniform.”
Guillory said that Lege is “taking it to another level”.
Lege, 19, of Gueydan, has been arrested three times in recent months. He was arrested twice in less than a month for taking video footage of police officers in Eunice and Lafayette.
