A complaint made to the Louisiana Department of Child and Family Services about meth allegedly being made in a home where children lived started an investigation that ended with the arrest of a Pineville man, according to a release.

Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives had gone to 120 Wayne St. Monday with DCFS officials to investigate the claim. When they arrived, they found Mitchell Littleton at the house, who told them that children did live at the house but that neither they nor his girlfriend were home at the time.

A search of the home did not find any sign of a meth lab, but detectives did find almost 2 pounds of marijuana. Some of it was packaged in ounce-sized bags, according to the release.

Littleton, 41, admitted that the marijuana was his, that he was trying to make some money and denied that anyone else in the house knew about it, according to the release.
