Smart was 14 years old when she was abducted and was reunited with her family nine months later. Brian David Mitchell abducted her from her bedroom on June 5, 2002 and she was reunited with her family on March 12, 2003 after a biker spotted Mitchell, his wife, Wanda Ileen Barzee, and Smart traveling.
