The female Avoyelles Parish prisoner who escaped Saturday after attending church was captured Tuesday night near Colfax, and two Pineville residents were arrested with her, according to the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Veronica Ann Dubois, 25, was captured by the U.S. Marshall Service Fugitive Apprehension Task Force and the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office. Dubois was found at a residence with Pineville residents Michael Proveaux and Cynthia Fredieu.
Both Proveaux and Fredieu were arrested and charged with being an accessory after the fact to simple escape, according to the release.
AVOYELLES PARISH, La. – Avoyelles deputies are looking for inmate Veronica Ann Dubois, after she escaped from the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office DC #2 facility in Simmesport around 9:30 p.m. Saturday.
Dubois is described as 5-foot-1 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Dubois also has a cross tattooed on her upper back, investigators say.

The release states Dubois attended a church service within the prison before she was discovered missing. A routine count shortly after the service confirmed her escape.
Doesn’t sound like this one is a menace to society. She was there for drug related/parole violations etc. She is not described as armed and dangerous. This will not help her reputation much though. She has family and friends in the Deville/ Rapides Parish/Grant Parish areas. She’s 25 years old, but in that picture she looks like she could be a teenager.
