What in the world is an “experimental documentary video short”??

Experimental documentariesdocument real life, but take a more poetic approach by utilizing fiction and interdisciplinary art, and by not following a typical narrative structure.

Video shorts (also referred to as shorts, short subjects, or short films) are cinematic works typically less than 40 minutes in length.

Currently in production, Art of the Bayou is a documentary project exploring the past, present and future of South Louisiana. It is presented through video shorts that connect creative interpretations of South Louisiana to interviews with locals about our region (using the experimental documentary style), and short video profiles of artists and arts organizations in the Arts Council’s service region of Terrebonne, Lafourche, St. James, St. John…
