Thibodaux, LA: Driver who wrecked his van and was involved in a hit-and-run was three times over legal limit, police say

A motorist found passed out behind the wheel of his wrecked van over the weekend had a blood-alcohol level that was more than three times the legal limit, Thibodaux Police said.

Carl Everett, 29, 623 Poplar St., Thibodaux, was not hurt in the crash, which was discovered about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Thibodaux Police Chief Scott Silverii said.

Everett is charged with hit-and-run driving, first-offense DWI and careless operation and was booked at the Lafourche Parish jail, according to Thibodaux Police spokesman David Melancon.
