NOPD officer shot in the leg with his own gun by handcuffed suspect

NEW ORLEANS – An NOPD officer was shot in the leg with his own gun after a handcuffed suspect being put into a police car was able to grab the weapon from the offer’s holster and fire, a police spokesperson said.

The officer was taken to the hospital and is said to be in good condition.
