Cajun Food, Louisiana History, and a Little Lagniappe
With the Super Bowl and Mardi Gras approaching, residents in south Louisiana are beginning to prepare themselves for 2 weeks of non-stop celebration. Although the Super Bowl takes place in New Orleans, it will still spill over into the surrounding parishes via visitors looking for places to stay, things to do, and good food to eat. One parish that is sure to see an influx of new visitors is our very own Ascension Parish. There are a few reasons for this:
1. New Orleans hotels are full – Not only is the Super Bowl in 2 weeks (Sunday, Feb. 3), but the day of the game is only 9 days before Fat Tuesday. Hotels in the city have been booked for months. And we still don’t know which 2 teams will be playing in the big game, which means that there are thousands of potential fans who have yet to make travel…
