ALEXANDRIA, La. – Mayor Jacques Roy commended all divisions of the City of Alexandria for their response to the tornado and the severe storms that cause major damage in Cenla on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the mayor said a tornado and a combination of storms Tuesday overwhelmed Cenla, particularly Alexandria. Roy said he received an “unofficial report” from weather officials that there were two separate tornadoes—one in Alexandria and a separate one in Tioga—that touched down and caused damage.
