Parent Of Shooter Dead, Conn. School Death Toll Hits 30

NEWTOWN, Conn. (AP/CNN/CBS) – Ryan Lanza’s mother was a teacher at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. She was among the fatalities in Friday’s morning shooting. Lanza’s body is still at the scene of the school.

Lanza, was from Hoboken, N.J, but lived in Newtown, Conn.

According to reports, Lanza’s mother was a kindergarten at the elementary school. Investigators say the majority of the fatalities were in her classroom.

As of Friday afternoon, the death toll in the Connecticut school is close to 30, according to local law enforcement. The suspect in Newton shooting identified as Ryan Lanza, source says.

Earlier Friday, an official with knowledge of a shooting at a Connecticut elementary school said 27 people were dead, including 18 children. This number also include adults which also includes school officials.
