After nine years of service, a valued member of the Pineville Police Department is retiring.Falco, an almost 12-year-old Belgian Malinois, has been the PPD K-9 police dog since 2003.
The City Council approved Falco’s retirement this week by declaring him “surplus property,” a required technicality.
Although Falco technically has belonged to the department, he became a part of his handler’s family. They were paired five years ago, and the handler said they’re “good buddies.”
