John White Visits Cenla and Brings $300K

TIOGA, La.- State School Superintendent John White came to Cenla today and he brought a check worth $300,000 for six local schools to share. News Channel Five’s Nolan Crane shows us why the state has a four million dollar grant initiative to try to help students improve their test scores.

When the faculty at Tioga Junior High School, applied for a special grant that is designed to help students with disabilities improve their test scores the principal says he never though his school would get the money.

“When we found out that our district was going to be awarded the grant we were extremely excited. It will help us to further the program and reach further into having more success not only our students with disabilities but all students at Tioga Junior High School,” says Jeff Powell.
