Port Barre Man Charged with Home Invasion, Punching Deputy

A Port Barre man is in jail after he allegedly broke into an Opelousas home and attacked the residents. St. Landry Parish sheriff’s deputies say Michael Robert Gillespie kicked in the front door of the South Union Street home and started a fight with the people inside.
