A former NOPD officer pleaded guilty in federal court on Thursday to one count of tax evasion. Federal prosecutors say Maurice Palmer filed no income tax returns for 2006, 2007 or 2008, bilking the government of a total of $31,662, according to a factual basis released by U.S. Attorney Jim Letten’s office.
