Slidell, La. – A 14-year-old girl was able to escape unharmed Saturday morning when a man attempted to abduct her while she was riding her bicycle, Slidell police say.
Around 8:30 a.m., the girl, who on her way to a local high school to attend a tutoring session, was taking a shortcut behind Big Lots at 196 Gause Boulevard.
Police say that’s when a man, identified as 75-year-old Elvest Thompson, blocked the victim with his car, grabbed her wrist, and tried to drag the girl into the back seat of his car.
The victim fought Thompson by punching and kicking him. After escaping unharmed, the teenager contacted her mother who then contacted Slidell Police.
