Cleco crew helps Baltimore Gas and Electric restore power in New Jersey – BGE helped CENLA after Hurricane Isaac

Twenty-six Cleco Corp. workers are in the Northeast, helping to restore power in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.

The Cleco team was sent to Baltimore, Md., in advance of the storm to work with Baltimore Gas and Electric. Workers from that company had traveled to Central Louisiana to help Pineville-based Cleco restore power to its customers after Hurricane Isaac hit Louisiana in August.

“It has been two months since we were in BGE’s position requesting help from other utilities as Hurricane Isaac moved toward Louisiana,” said Floyd Pittman, Cleco’s manager of distribution reliability and maintenance. “As always, we are happy to help other utilities when they face a large restoration.”

Members of the Cleco team are from Pineville, Bunkie, St. Tammany Parish, Ville Platte, Eunice, New Iberia and Franklin.

Entergy Louisiana also has sent utility workers to the Northeast.
