Leesville, LA: Elderly Man Killed In Vernon Parish Crash

Troopers responded to the crash around 8 a.m. on La. Hwy 121 south of La. Hwy 489. The crash involved a 2007 Honda CRV, driven by Gloria P. Toney, 78, of Leesville and an 88-year-old man, identified as Eddard L. Morrison.

According to reports from the Louisiana State Police, the Honda was southbound on La. Hwy 121 when it struck Morrison, who was either sitting or lying on the edge of the southbound lane.

The crash actually occurred around 5:30 a.m., but Morrison was not discovered dead until 8 a.m.

Toney was unaware she had struck him and did not stop at the scene. She was later located.
