Police were called to the scene of the accident with one vehicle on fire at 11:44 a.m., according to a report from the department.
Authorities say a dump truck being towed by a wrecker lost its rear wheel, which caused the dump truck to veer into the guard rail and burst into flames.
The dump truck was carrying a Bob Cat Skid Steer that flipped out of the truck onto Murray Street. The driver of the dump truck was not injured, officers say.
The driver of the wrecker, Jarrod Rush, 44, of Alexandria was issued a ticket for having an expired driver’s license and having an unsecured load.
