Baton Rouge, LA: Body Of Roger Jarreau Recovered From Mississippi River

East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Deputies recovered the body of a man this afternoon that detectives believed jumped from the Mississippi River Bridge last night.

The body of Roger Jarreau, 71, of 3303 Lone Oak Drive Apt #D203 was discovered by the EBRSO Marine Search and Rescue Division this afternoon in the Mississippi River almost a mile south from the Highway 190 bridge. According to reports, a passerby contacted EBRSO last night at approximately 9:04 p.m. in reference to an elderly man on the bridge railing. Deputies responded to the bridge at 100 Airline Hwy and found only Jarreau’s cane and his empty vehicle.
