A Deville mother and son have been indicted by a Rapides Parish grand jury in connection with the drug-related death of a man in Pineville in June, according to a Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office release.
Chance Michael Ducote, 22, was indicted on charges of second-degree murder and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance II, the office said
His mother, 38-year-old Jennifer Gayle McNeal, was indicted on a charge of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance II.
The indictments stem from the death of a man on Magnolia Lane in Pineville. On June 11, deputies and medical personnel responded to a call about an unresponsive man. The man was taken to a local hospital, but later died. An autopsy determined his death was related to drug use, according to the release.
