SHREVEPORT, LA: Armed store clerk foils robbery attempt

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) –

Shreveport Police are looking for a man they say tried to rob a Daiquiri Express Monday night but changed his mind after confronting an armed clerk.

The incident happened about 10:30 p.m. at the Daiquiri Express store in the 6700 block of Pines Road.

Police say a man walked into the store with what witnesses described as a shotgun-type weapon. That’s when a clerk working at the store got a handgun and ordered the man to leave.

The man left on foot, without money, heading south on Pines Road.

Police add that a second man, believed to be a partner of the unsuccessful bandit, tried to enter the store as the other man was leaving. The second man also left after seeing the armed clerk.

Anyone with information about this case should call Shreveport-Caddo Crimestoppers at 673-7373 or Detective John Jackson at 673-6955.
