Man air lifted to hospital after three vehicle crash

A three vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Highway 38 and Highway 43 in Easleyville.

A log truck was headed eastbound on Highway 38 and when it reached the intersection there was a car with its turn signal on waiting to turn left on Highway 43. There was a blue Chevy pick-up truck stopped at the end of Highway 43 waiting to turn right on Highway 38.

According to reports the Chevy truck pulled out in front of the log truck but the driver of the log truck was unable to stop in time and crashed into the back of the truck pushing it across the highway.

The log truck then side swiped the other vehicle waiting to turn. The driver of the pick-up truck appeared to have sustained major injuries and was air lifted to the hospital by Acadian Ambulance.

The driver of the log truck and also the driver of the other vehicle involved did not appear to be hurt. On scene was St. Helena Parish Sheriff’s Office, St. Helena Fire Department District #4 and Louisiana State Police Troop L.
