Baton Rouge Muslims react to U.S. embassy attacks

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) –

Some of the members of LSU Muslim Student Association say what happened in Libya on Tuesday was outrageous. Not only do they think this attack was senseless act of violence, they say it goes against everything their religion teaches.

“A religion that teaches us peace and prosperity, and then we go against it and kill other people…I’m not judging people, but I wouldn’t even call them Muslim,” said Ammar Qureshi, faculty advisor of the LSU Muslim Student Association.

The crowd made up of mostly conservative Muslims, took the streets in Benghazi, Libya, to protest an American film they believed insulted their religion. They ripped and burned American flags, then stormed and set fire to the U.S. embassy where ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans were killed.
