LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) – A Leesville man who worked as a dispatcher at Fort Polk’s motor pool has been sentenced to one year in prison for stealing government fuel cards.
U.S. District Judge Patricia Minaldi also on Thursday ordered 41-year-old Brian Eugene Wallace to perform 200 hours of community service and pay nearly $8,000 in restitution to Fort Polk. Wallace and two other people were charged in May 2011 with conspiracy to use or traffic unauthorized access devices.

Troopers scrutinized gasoline purchases made by 43-year-old Patrick Buxton of Oakdale while he was employed as an Allen Parish sheriff’s deputy. Through investigation, it was determined that from July 2011 to May 2012 Buxton used a department credit card to fraudulently purchase 6,949 gallons of gasoline with an approximate value of $24,300.
