Noisy tailpipe leads to extradition

A loud exhaust pipe resulted in the arrest and pending extradition of a West Monroe resident.

Police arrested Oscar Tomas Rolando Ambrocio, 120 Reagan St., after stopping him as he was driving a Ford F150 with a “loud modified exhaust.”

Ambrocio told police that he didn’t have a driver’s license in the United States and presented a Republic of Guatemala identification card.

Ambrocio reportedly told police he had been in the United States for 11 years after entering the country by boat via the Gulf of Mexico.
