Hammond, LA: Man arrested in murder cold case

Ronnie Saulsberry

HAMMOND – Authorities recently closed a 14-year murder investigation in Tangipahoa Parish with the arrest of a Tickfaw man.

Sheriff Daniel Edwards said deputies arrested Ronnie Saulsberry, 32, last Wednesday and charged him with second-degree murder in the 1998 death of Wayne Thompson.

Thompson’s body was found in 2004 on Chemekette Road in Robert. He had been reported missing in June of 1998, and had last been seen a few months before when investigators said he robbed several people after a dice game in order to buy drugs.
