New Orleans police seeking cross-dressing robber and his masked accomplice

NEW ORLEANS –

A cross-dressing robber and a man clad in a bandanna robbed a record store in Uptown on Friday night.

Police said the robbery happened about 9:59 p.m. in the 1000 block of Broadway Street.

The duo walked in casually, police said, and the man in women’s clothing and a wig asked the store clerk if he could use the restroom. The other man stood by the front door.

However, instead of using the restroom the cross-dressing robber walked behind the counter and demanded the clerk to open the register. The other robber clad in a bandanna ordered the other store employee to the manager’s office to open the safe.

After taking about $2,000 in cash, both of the robbers fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Anyone with information is asked to call NOPD Detective Jerry at 504-658-6020 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
