Bridge City, LA: Man booked with rape in attack on former girlfriend

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Bridge City man after authorities say he punched and raped his former girlfriend after she rebuffed his sexual advances Sunday. Wilmer Galvez, 27, of 1420 Utah Beach Drive, was booked with domestic abuse battery and aggravated rape on Sunday. Galvez remains in custody at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna, and no bond has been set.

Galvez is accused of beating and raping his former girlfriend of seven years after he visited her shortly after their recent break-up, according to an arrest report. Deputies received a report of a domestic disturbance and when they arrived, they found the victim who told them  Galvez had hit her and raped her.
