Alexandria, LA: Police arrest 17-year-old shoplifter

Alexandria Police arrested 17-year-old Desiree Batiste of Alexandria Friday afternoon and charged her with seven counts of Theft by shoplifting and seven counts of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile.

Police were dispatched to Wal-Mart on North Mall Dr. in reference to a Shoplifter in Custody. When police arrived, Wal-Mart’s Loss Prevention Officer’s had Batiste and two Juveniles in custody for attempting to leave the store without paying for items they selected.

Further investigation into this incident found that the three suspects had taken items from several other stores located in the Alexandria Mall.
