Honore Estes
A Jefferson Parish grand jury has indicted a woman in the shooting death of her estranged husband.
It’s reported that Honore N. Estes, 25, faces trial on a charge of second-degree murder in the March 4 death of Nicholas Houston, 25, who was shot outside the couple’s home in Waggaman.
Estes, who was an Orleans Parish sheriff’s deputy at the time, shot Houston during an argument in the driveway of the home, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators said she initially told them a pistol accidentally fired while in her purse. Later, detectives said, she told them the gun fired while she was waving it at her husband.
