New Orleans, LA: 22-year-old man shot in Lower Garden District

New Orleans police are investigating the shooting early Friday morning of a 22-year-old male in the Lower Garden District. The incident occurred about 1:29 a.m. near the intersection ofReligious and St. James streets, according to a statement by Officer Frank Robertson, a department spokesman.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition, Robertson said.
