The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating the killing of a New Orleans man in Marrero on Friday morning and authorities do not have a motive in the shooting. The incident was reported shortly before noon near the intersection of Ames Boulevard and Trinity Drive, said Glen Boyd, a sheriff’s spokesman.
Deputies were called out to the scene after they received a report of a vehicle leaving the roadway and crashing into a drainage canal. Boyd said that it appears that the victim, who was identified as Kevin Jackson by a relative, was driving on Ames Boulevard when a black truck pulled alongside him and the occupants opened fire.
