Baton Rouge, LA: Man shot several times in targeted high-crime area

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) –

A man is in critical condition after being shot Thursday evening in the same Baton Rouge zip code police are targeting to help curb violence in the city.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said it was called to the Texaco gas station in the 2300 block of North Lobdell Avenue a little after 7 p.m. in reference to a shooting victim.

Responding officers found a 25-year-old man suffering from several gunshot wounds. Early reports indicated he was hit in the stomach and leg.
